“当然，《国际条约》的部分目标是保护，这样我们就不会失去农作物的品种。建立全球种子库，作为我们在世界上拥有的所有植物种质资源的最后储备和后备。《国际条约》提供了法律上的确定性和框架，鼓励挪威建立这个后备系统:种子库。我认为种子库恰恰象征着该条约的全部内容：国际合作，保存、分享和保护作为我们粮食安全基础的作物遗传资源的本质。”

“Part of the objectives of the international treaty is, of course, to conserve so that we do not lose the varieties of crops. The Global Seed Vault is built and established as the last resort reserve and back-up of all plant germplasm we have in the world. And the Treaty provided the legal certainty and framework that encouraged Norway to build this back-up system: The Seed Vault. I think the Seed Vault symbolizes exactly what the Treaty is all about: the international cooperation, the essence of the need to save, to share, and to preserve the crop genetic resources that from the basis of our food security.”
