Expert Dialogue on "Wildlife Trade and Legal Response" in the New Era | Welcome to Join the ZOOM Webinar
2020/7/13 13:58:00 本站

Illegal poaching, environmental pollution, natural calamities, habitat deterioration, and loss……all these together contribute to biodiversity loss. The earth is faced with the sixth Mass Extinction.

Biodiversity is not only a concept about animals and plants but also an important notion concerning the quality of life as well as development. The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress issued the Decision to Comprehensively Prohibit the Illegal Trade of Wild Animals, Break the Bad Habit of Excessive Consumption of Wild Animals, and Effectively Secure the Life and Health of the People this February. The Wild Animal Protection Law will be amended within this year. The lists of national protected wild animal and plant have been in the process of amending and soliciting public opinions……the awareness of wildlife conservation has raised to unprecedented level both from the perspectives of national policy and ordinary people.

The Legal Affairs Working Committee of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) organizes Wildlife Trade and Legal Countermeasure Webinar on July 17 via zoom. Professionals in the fields of species conservation and legal affairs are invited to analyze the challenges of species protection and exchange experience. This event aims to offer the public with a platform for better knowing the current situation of wild species protection and the significance of biodiversity conservation, so as to popularize relevant knowledge, enhance protection awareness, and promote international cooperation.
