Spotted seal is one of the rare species of sea animals in China's coastal waters. Close, seen adult eyes twinkle, impressive. The baby is white and looks cute in the photo. According to one expert, finless porpoises are relatively easy to catch, while spotted seals are hard to catch. They are born on the ice of the Bohai sea and could migrate far east to st. Peter's bay. Would you like to hear about the spotted seal stories? Looking forward to the early publication of "The spotted seal on broken ice" funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Grant Project!

—— Guo Yinfeng, Project Director and Chief Technical Adviser of the United Nations Development Programme / Global Environment Facility Yellow Sea Marine Ecosystem

More and more beloved spotted seals are approaching the time to migrate to China again. To welcome the return of spotted seals, volunteers around the Yellow Sea - Bohai will pay attention to and focus on protection. The launch seminar of the project "Building a Spotted Seal Marine Conservation Area Network in the Yellow Sea - Bohai", supported by the project Department of the relevant United Nations department, will be held tomorrow (October 14) at 1:00 p.m. in the Spotted Seal Focus Breeding Site Brocade. The purpose of this meeting is to mobilize volunteer teams of all Chinese conservation sites in the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea regions of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF). On this basis, we will promote the construction of the protection network system for the spotted seals, reduce the pollution of marine garbage, enhance the awareness of marine protection of the whole people, and encourage community residents to participate in the protection of the spotted seals and marine biodiversity.

Apart from Guo Yinfeng, a senior expert on international animal behavior and welfare, Dr. Sara Platto, an associate professor of Jianghan University, and Ma Zhiqiang, a researcher at Liaoning Institute of Marine and Fisheries Sciences. Participants in the inaugural meeting are directors of nearly 20 volunteer teams from CBCGDF’s China Conservation Area sites (CCAfa) along the Yellow Sea – Bohai region, as well as other volunteer teams who have actively signed up to participate in the project.

The inaugural meeting will be an opportunity to promote the public to appreciate the spotted seals and join the team to protect the spotted seals and their habitat environment. Let's look forward to the successful holding of the event.

PS: It is worth noting that this meeting carefully considers the spirit of the green meeting index (GMT), such as low-carbon, efficient and thrifty. Some long-distance participants can choose to attend the conference remotely.
