Time flies, things changed while people changed. The only thing that remains unchanged is one’s own heart. Just like China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF)’s volunteer, the British extreme explorer Ash Dykes – the world has changed around, and his team also has experienced a number of changes on personnel. The thing doesn’t change is the insistent heart and will. The one-year “Mission Yangtze” expedition is closer than was planned to be achieving the goal of the third Guinness World Record in his life. This is the physical level, and the mental level is embodied as “You cannot lose if you cannot be broken”. This feeling is getting higher. With the change of the world, oneself is still moving forward. This kind of perseverance and brilliance has achieved full sharing with our feelings in the “one year”.

According to the latest news from Ash: He has arrived in Yichang City, Hubei Province, and is close to completing the 3,000-mile of the 4,000-mile of the “Mission Yangtze” expedition. Although there are still more than 1,000 miles to be completed, many people, including himself, have been unable to suppress the excitement of expecting the future. At the same time, Ash naturally not only "runs away" along the Yangtze River, but also frequently interacts with fellow locals along the way; so far, many public activities such as lectures, sharing meetings, and picking up waste have been held.

Since its departure from the source of the Yangtze River, which was traced scientifically with the help from China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) in August 2018, as of May 12, 2019, it marks the 260th day of this epic "Mission Yangtze" adventure. It seems that this will give us a glimpse of the myth "Journey to the West". Ash is currently storming about 25 to 35 miles a day, and at most, 46.6 miles a day! At this rate, he is expected to complete the first human walk through the Yangtze River in China at the end of July or early August and means that it will be completed within 11 months, one month ahead of everyone's estimate!

The “Mission Yangtze” expedition is guided and supported by CBCGDF and the local authorities of Sanjiangyuan. As a volunteer of CBCGDF, Ash, while being overwhelmed by the beauty of China’s internal discoveries along the way, also produces instant observation and intimate experience of the ecological environment and various species in various places, and through exchanges with the locals, interviews with the media, of course, as well as personal social media (@AshDykes) to fully express. CBCGDF has published fruitful newsletters to this unusual “Mission Yangtze” of Ash and will be more focused on the climax of the epic journey approaches. Therefore, welcome to continue to follow CBCGDF’s platforms, more interesting news is still behind.

(Note: The documentary video series which records the history of Ash Dykes’ “Mission Yangtze” has landed on the new media platforms in China. For details, please click http://www.cbcgdf.org/NewsShow/4937/8496.html).
