On August 29, with the support of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), volunteers in Anyang held the first volunteer meeting in local history. According to the organizer, on August 29, 2011, 9 years ago, the first group of wild animal conservation volunteers in Anyang got together for the first time. For this reason, this first official volunteer meeting also chose held on this day with special commemorative significance.

At the two-day volunteer meeting, volunteers from the Green Anyang Ecological and Environmental Protection Volunteer Association (formerly Anyang Common Homeland Wildlife Conservation Association) discussed collectively on how to implement ecological civilization thoughts and carry out ecological environmental protection in the local area. Among them, the most eye-catching topics include lead pollution in Matoujian Town, wild animal poaching incidents that still occur frequently in the local area, the phenomenon of long-term illegal logging of ancient trees cedars, widespread hardening of natural river banks, and alien invasive species issue, animal welfare in the zoo, as well as the personal safety of volunteers in carrying out environmental protection actions, etc., were fully communicated.

During the meeting, all volunteers reached a consensus after discussion and decided to apply information disclosures to the local government departments addressing the lead pollution problem in Matoujian Town, the water pollution problem in the ceramic factory in Neihuang County, and the issue of the disclosure of licenses for the domestication and breeding of local wild animals. Through the form of information disclosure, local government departments are encouraged to increase their efforts in environmental pollution control and protection of wildlife and the ecological environment.

At the same time, in response to the illegal land occupation in the Zhanghe Canyon National Wetland Park, the hardening of the river in the urban area, and the protection status of the wetland in the Yin Ruins, the volunteers participating in the meeting decided to submit a targeted letter of advice to the local government.
