Zhou Jinfeng was Invited to Attend the Youth Summit Forum on Global Governance and Give a Keynote Speech | Chinese Youth Participation in Global Environmental Governance

On August 13th, 2019, the Secretary-General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), Zhou Jinfeng, was invited to attend the Youth Summit Forum on Global Governance sponsored by the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Collaborative Development Research Association of Peking University and delivered a keynote speech entitled “China’s Youth Participation in Global Environmental Governance: Civil Society Sustainable Development Goals (C-SDG) Global Youth Leadership Plan”.

 

Dr. Zhou Jinfeng attached great importance to the cultivation of young talents and believes that young people are the main force of global environmental governance. In 2018, he launched the “C-SDG Global Youth Leadership Initiative” to encourage young people to actively participate in the process of global sustainable development goals.

 

At the invitation of Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Yang Wenyan, Deputy Director-General of the Division for Social Policy and Development of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, also made a speech on the theme of “Sharing Experiences in International Organizations - the United Nations”.

 

The specialties and experts who attended the forum also including Mr. Feng Guoyou, President of Hong Kong Professionals (Beijing) Association; Mr. Zhu Xueping, Vice-President of Mainland-Hong Kong-Macao Economy & Trade Promotion Association; Ms. Linda, Deputy Secretary-General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF); Wu Qingyu, COO of UNLetron (Beijing) Co., Ltd.; Ms. Cheng Yu, from Education Training Center, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security; Ms. Liang Yanting, Founder and President of International Youth Development Institute; Mr. Katie Hsu, President of Hong Kong Life Planning Association; Ms. Cao Jiajia, representative of China Youth Elite Project; Ms. He Yingjing, President of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Collaborative Development Research Association, Peking University; Ms. Wang Sining, Chairperson of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Collaborative Development Research Association of Peking University, etc.

 

The Forum gathered many young college students from Mainland China and Hong Kong. The holding of the forum also provided an excellent communication platform for young people from all over the world to complete the C-SDG Global Youth Leadership Plan. It is believed that under the help of the CBCGDF, everyone will become an important force to promote China’s active participation in global environmental governance.
