Recently, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, the Secretary-General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) was warmly invited by BioLEAGUES Worldwide the organizer, and will gather together with researchers, ecologists and scholars from all over the world to attend the Climate Change International Conference (“Climate CONF 2k19”) held in Beijing this spring. The format of the conference includes keynote speeches, oral presentations, poster presentations, student presentations and more. The theme this year is “Climate Change, Management and its Social Impact”.

Attendees of this event will discuss the impact of climate change in various field, advanced technologies for controlling pollution, a statistical distribution of weather patterns, etc. Participants also included individuals who were concerned about the issue. As a famous saying: “Our plant can participate and gain knowledge about the various control measures and the latest advancement.” In other words, climate change is defined as a change in average weather conditions in a particular period of time with a context of long-term conditions.

Human intervention with nature has always left a drastic impact resulting in the elimination of various exotic species of flora and fauna on earth. In addition to natural factors like volcanic eruptions, plate tectonics, forest fire etc. the bad effects of climate are further accelerating by manmade activities like greenhouse gases emission, global warming, oil spilling in an ocean, excessive use of fertilizer, excessive usage of hydrocarbons. The scientists are working with their full efficiency to prevent the future generation from climate change. They are working to understand the future climate change by observation and theoretical models to prevent it.

It is true that in the face of the increasingly severe emergency of climate change, China's response to climate change has not yet been understood and supported by the whole people. China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) has already adopted the NPC and CPPCC two sessions meetings of recommendations and proposals and other forms, calling for the establishment of institutions and mechanisms to increase public participation in climate change, and to make the climate change response cause universal. Moreover, as a non-governmental organization (NGO) that is committed to ecological frontiers and sustainable development, CBCGDF will work hard to reduce carbon emissions, promote the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and promote green and low-carbon development. The relevant research was initiated, and the community was also urged to promote energy conservation and emission reduction and actively respond to climate change. CBCGDF has led by example and participate in the global promotion of the commitment to divestment from the fossil fuel industry. Through the efforts of the previous stage, promotion and implementation of low-carbon sustainable development with various partners, CBCGDF has joined the global great camp to promote carbon decarbonation and environmental protection.

Dr. Zhou leads CBCGDF and actively cooperates with colleagues at home and abroad to build a global awareness and promote concepts in the areas of sustainable development and climate change, including "Zero Carbon City" and "Climate Emergency". To promote the UN Sustainable Development Goals, through cooperation with domestic and foreign NGOs, the UN framework, and various academic research institutions to lead research and joint efforts with the community to promote low-carbon energy conservation and emission reduction, and actively respond to climate change.

This "Climate CONF 2k19" will be held in Beijing from April 11th to 12th. Dr. Zhou has been invited to serve as a member of the organizing committee and will deliver a keynote speech. For more information, welcome to follow CBCGDF Wechat account ChinaGreenExpress and official Weibo account @中国绿发会. Climate change, the clock is ticking. CBCGDF is determined, with innovative ideas and actions, plays the role and responsibility of a leading NGO, to strengthen cooperation with colleagues at home and abroad, actively respond, and work hard to promote sustainable development and green low carbon. To firmly go on along the road to transformation.
