On March 26, 2019, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) ACTAsia Special Fund Working Group held a meeting in Beijing. To combine the extensive experience of wildlife rescue aid training in Asia for many years, and the team of many international wild rescue experts that ACTAsia has with the strong support, in view of the current situation of the need to upgrade professional skills in the domestic wildlife rescue process, the CBCGDF-ACTAsia Special Fund intends to start professional training for domestic wildlife rescue workers in the second half of this year.

Since 2009, ACTAsia has conducted professional training for more than 1,300 veterinarians in China through cooperation with government departments in Beijing, Xi'an and Shenzhen, as well as dozens of animal protection organizations and institutions at home and abroad. Nearly 20 veterinarians have grown into professional animal rescue trainers. It is understood that these veterinarians also have extensive experience in the field of wildlife rescue. In addition, ACTAsia is closely linked to a team of scientists who have worked directly in the field of wildlife rescue for many years.

CBCGDF, as a leading non-governmental organization that has long been concerned about the biodiversity conservation and sustainable development, needs a lot of contact with the rescue of rare wild animals in its daily work. From February to March of 2019, the volunteers from CBCGDF China Conservation Area for Waterfowl at Tangshan, and China Conservation Area for Spotted Seals at Dalian (CCAfa), in the rescue of the spotted seals, was through the CBCGDF emergency contact with relevant international rescue experts to participate in the rescue and given timely guidance. At ordinary times, the grassroots environmental volunteers active in various provinces, cities and counties in China have generally expressed their lack of professional rescue experience in the rescue of various wild animals. Similarly, in the domestic forestry system, the gap between this professional rescue concept and professional skills is urgently needed to be filled.

At the meeting on the 26th, after a group discussion by the CBCGDF-ACTAsia Special Fund team, it was decided to officially launch professional training on wildlife rescue in China. The training will cover several aspects of wildlife rescue knowledge, rescue skills, animal ethics, wildlife rescue and other aspects.

The former organization of ACTAsia was the ACTAsia Animal Protection Team China Volunteer Team established in 2006. The organization focuses on the development of “life care” and promote the development of society. They are committed to promoting the active action of all walks of life, respecting others, be kind to animals, protecting the environment, and practicing a healthy lifestyle with a sustainable concept. To help the cause of ecological sustainable development. In 2019, CBCGDF and ACTAsia jointly established the CBCGDF-ACTAsia Special Fund.
