Lately, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, the Secretary-General of CBCGDF, received an invitation from Alfonso Cauteruccio, President of Greenaccord Cultural Associatoin (Associazione Culturale Greenaccord Onlus), for attending the XV International Media Forum on the Protection of Nature that will take place in San Miniato, from the 7 to the 9 of March 2019, and whose topic will be “People Building Future. The Breath of Earth: The Forests”. In the meantime, Dr. Zhou was invited to present a speech on the subject of “Biodiversity and Forests”.

The forum, as well as all the other events organized by the Greenaccord Cultural Association, addresses the national and international media community in order to give them the possibility to reflect and found ideas so that they will be able to offer a qualified information. For those journalists coming from developing countries, the forum is as a kind of “cooperation in education” that offers them the opportunity to enter a net of communication and meet journalists belonging to prestigious headlines.

Central focus of the forum will be an in-depth reflection on how to proceed in the ecological value of forests and the consequences of their disruption for native indigenous people. The forum is organized in collaboration with the Italian Environment Ministry and the Region of Tuscany. The forum will be attended by 100 journalists from the five continents.

While accepting the invitation, Dr. Zhou said that the forest is the “Lung of the Earth” and the main body of the terrestrial ecosystem. It has strong ecological functions and can produce significant ecological benefits. However, due to human activities, the forest area is rapidly decreasing, which in turn has brought biodiversity conservation into a more serious situation. To this end, on every “International Forest Day”, CBCGDF will earnestly call on people to protect the forest, protect the lungs of the earth, and promote the protection of forest natural resources, and establish corresponding China Conservation Areas for Forests (CCAfa), and it is complicate with the theme of this forum.

Through this forum, CBCGDF will not only share China's practice and experience in forest resource protection, but also hope to promote the establishment of a platform for international exchanges with the Greenaccord Cultural Association, seek opportunities for cooperation, and enhance the public awareness of the protection of forests and biodiversity, as well as enable more people to participate in this global ecological civilization that is closely related to the living environment and quality.
