Zhou Jinfeng Visits UNDP in China

Recently, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF, visited the United Nations Development Programme(UNDP) in China and exchanged with Mr. Boaz Paldi, Engagement Manager, Mr. Wan Yang, Assistant Director of UNDP in China, and Mrs. Tina Maria Stoum, Senior Adviser of UNDP.

 

In the meeting, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng introduced the work of CBCGDF in promoting sustainable goals, biodiversity conservation, volunteer activities, and policy advocacy. He showed his proud of the volunteers protecting the Great Bustard, Pangolins in spite of poor conditions.

 

He believed that public participation was the key to biodiversity conservation. The Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework should attach the importance to the efforts of non-state actors. To contribute to the progress, CBCGDF is hosting the China International Biodiversity Conservation for Sustainable Development Forum (CIBCSD) on 22nd May. In the meantime, Dr. Zhou also invited UNDP to support the forum.

 

Mr. Wan later introduced the key areas of UNDP’s work. Boaz Paldi detailed the work UNDP conducted in animal welfare and wild animals’ protection. Dr. Zhou showed his appreciation and introduced outstanding companies in green development. The two sides look forward to the further cooperation on biodiversity conservation.
