Invitation | Supported by TERRE Policy Centre and UNESCO-Paris and Beijing, CBCGDF will Host a Consultative Symposium on SCCN, Eco-Civilization and SDGs on January 25

To incorporate the spirit of Eco-Civilization into the education to the youth generation, and to implement the theory of “Green and Smart Schools” proposed in the report of the China’s 19th National Congress, and to promote the practice of sustainable development in Chinese University campuses, in collaboration with TERRE Policy Centre (TPC), India, CBCGDF will host a consultative symposium themed: SmartCampusCloudNetwork (SCCN) Aimed Towards Eco-Civilization for a Shared Future. Along with TPC, CBCGDF would like to invite the relevant shareholders, deans, chancellors, heads of the areas on sustainability in educational area including schools/colleges/universities, etc. to attend this symposium.

 

The symposium is organized by CBCGDF, supported by TERRE Policy Centre (India) and UNESCO-Paris and Beijing.

 

Mr. Rajendra Shende will be the host speaker at this roundtable symposium. Mr. Rajendra Shende is the Chairman of TERRE Policy Centre, Former Director UNEP and Coordinating Lead Author of IPCC. TERRE Policy Centre is one of the founders of SmartCampusCloudNetwork (SCCN). TERRE serves as policy think-tank and action-platform to develop replicable and scalable models for sustainable development. Food and energy security are the focused areas of work. SCCN is a global network of the education campuses of schools, colleges, institutes, and universities committed to making a tangible contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

 

The roundtable symposium will discuss issues such as sustainable eating in colleges and universities, "China Conservation Area at Campus" and smart campus, it mainly aims at the launch of SCCN (Smart Campus Cloud Network) in China to contribute to SDGs and eco-civilization; producing a draft proposal to the upcoming 2019 Chinese NPC and CPPCC meetings; gathering inputs and recommendations to the relevant contents of the UN’s Post-2020 Biodiversity Framework; and publishing the meeting’s collected works(essays).
