Recently, after consulting Zhou Jinfeng, Professor Jorgen Randers was pleased to accept the invitation as the China Daily international edition front page columnist.

As one of the world's top think tanks, the Club of Rome published a report on "The Limits of Growth" in the 1970s, which for the first time in human history triggered a big discussion on the issue of "sustainable development". The enduring decades have directly contributed to the introduction of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In 2018, during the 50th Anniversary of the Club of Rome, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng was elected to the Executive Committee of the Rome Club. Before the election, Dr. Zhou and Professor Randers were jointly approved to form the Chinese Committee of the Club of Rome, with Professor Randers serving as the Chairman.

Jorgen Randers (second from left) introduced the relevant work to the Research Fellow of the International Strategy Institute of the Central Party School (first from right) and Dr. Zhao (second from the right) of the Industrial Economic Research Department of the Development Research Center of the State Council, and expressed two wishes from the Club of Rome.

1. Promote sustainable development and green development of the world;

2. Make the world know more about China, acknowledge that China has gone through very successful and rapid development, and introduce China's best practices to the world.
