On 20th November, CBCGDF, together with Chinese delegate and African Wildlife Foundation met in The UN Biodiversity Conference in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. In the conference, the United Nations will call on decision makers from more than 190 countries to step up efforts to halt the biodiversity loss and protect the ecosystems that support food and water security and health for billions of people. As an NGO, CBCGDF invited AWF to meet Chinese official to better proceed the process of post 2020 Agenda as well to prepare for the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity.

To be closely involved in the COP15 in Beijing, CBCGDF and AWF plan to jointly initiate a series of working groups in Africa and China. AWF can organize a workshop or a meeting in Nairobi by convening the representatives from African governments, AU, civil societies, NGOs, etc, while CBCGDF will organize a parallel one in Beijing, after that CBCGDF and AWF will hold a joint working group with selected representatives from both sides to release a final statement and CBDGDF will make sure that the statement will be eventually adopted in the China government agenda.

African Wildlife Foundation's mission is to ensure wildlife and wild lands thrive in modern Africa. When the needs of humans and wildlife seem most at odds, African Wildlife Foundation brings its many resources to bear. AWF are far more than environmentalists. They are lawyers, scientists, policymakers, and more working on the ground to help address the issues that put habitat at risk—from land-use laws and agricultural growth to settlement patterns and political instability.
