Zhou Jinfeng Attended Breakfast Meeting at the Swedish Embassy | Gave Recommendations on Post-2020 Biodiversity Agenda

On the morning of November 1, 2018 Beijing time, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, the Secretary-General of CBCGDF, was invited to a breakfast meeting at the Ambassador’s Residence, Embassy of Sweden. The meeting was hosted by Swedish Ambassador Ms. Anna Lindstedt. It was in the connection with the 2018 Annual General Meeting of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED). The meeting was also joined by Ms. ?sa Romson, the former Swedish Minister of Environment and Climate, representatives from WWF, EU-delegation as well as representatives from a few like-minded Nordic countries.

 

The purpose of the meeting was to have an information exchange and a brainstorming discussion on the key development trends and policy issues related to the meeting’s attendees’ joint work at CCICED and beyond.

 

The topics of discussions are:

 

?       Living Planet Report 2018 - Scientific foundation, policy development and concrete actions for a global new deal for our planet and people.

?       The “super year” of 2020 – Key international processes for enhanced post-2020 ambitions on climate and integrated and innovative thinking on biological diversity.

?       Synergies between bilateral and multilateral cooperation and CCICED – from the perspective of individual countries and exploring the opportunities for cooperation.

?       Sustainability of the Belt and Road initiative – what can we do within CCICED and beyond?

 

Dr. Zhou was joined with Prof. Fred Dubee, an international advisor to CBCGDF. At the meeting, Dr. Zhou introduced the work of CBCGDF to the attendees and made recommendations on the post-2020 biodiversity agenda.
