24 October, 2018 – Vance Martin, the president of WILD Foundation and a solid partner of CBCGDF, came to our office to facilitate the process of WILD11. On this sunny day, Mr. Martin and the Secretary-General Dr. Zhou met and had a productive conversation.

Dr. Zhou said: “I went to the China Pavilion for China’s Talk in Amsterdam. It was very impressive and exciting. Wilderness is the fashion trend now! Instead of to create a near-nature city, we need to create the wilderness.” Mr. Martin was very pleased to hear this and felt the same way.

These years, CBCGDF has promoted wilderness especially in Schools.  Wilderness is the irreplaceable nature. In the lecture led by CBCGDF in Peking University, we specifically encouraged and stressed the importance to keep wilderness in school, to create an innovative protected are and new solution to restore, preserve and even create wilderness, which is the heritage to the future generation.

To promote what Chinese NGOs have done in conservation, Mr.Martin also invite CBCGDF as the co-author for an thesis for Landscape Architecture Journal to showcase how Chinese NGOs promote Wilderness in China.
