When Will We See ZERO EMISSION: CBCGDF’s Representative Zhang Lichao Attends the 2018 Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco

During 12th-14th of September, Zhang Lichao, in representation of CBCGDF, attended the The Global Climate Action Summit (GCAS).

 

The Global Climate Action Summit brought leaders and people together from around the world to “Take Ambition to the Next Level.” It was a moment to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of states, regions, cities, companies, investors and citizens with respect to climate action.

 

Invited by Pacific Environment, Mr. Zhang attended the side event of GCAS: Zero Emission, Trade and Transport by 2030——Cutting Edge Progress from Norway and other International Leaders.

 

In this event, Mr. Zhang has been actively engaged by discussing topics with Libby Schaaf, the mayor of Auckland City in regards of the sustainability of city management and the coordinative strategy for city development and biological conservation.

 

Mr. Zhang also exchanged his ideas with Ola Elvestuen, the minister of the Norwegian Ministry of the Environment on China’s action in climate change biological conservation and zero emission for economy, while Mr Elvestuen acknowledged the effort China has made for global climate change.

 

On 13th September, Mr. Zhang attended the side event named Resilience for All: Enhancing Equity in Urban Climate Action. The event centers the social justice in the context of climate change and energy conservation.

 

Another side event Mr. Zhang attended is Toxic Things: The Cost of Coal Film Festival hosted by Pacific Environment and supported by CBCGDF. Movies presented are from America, Russia, China and other countries to provoke people’s thoughts on the negative impacts exerted by carbon.
