On June 6, 2023, the final round of the 4th Capital University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the Global Youth Entrepreneur Summit kicked off at Peking University. Linda Wong, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) and an entrepreneurship mentor at Peking University Innovation Society, attended the event at the invitation of the organizers.

The 4th Capital University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition has entered its final stage during this event. Since its official launch in November 2022, the competition has received 800 project submissions from 221 universities both domestic and international, including renowned institutions such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Harvard University, MIT, and Yale University. Among them, 49 projects, including the national gold medal winner in the Internet+ category, were awarded various types of gold medals. In the semi-final stage, a total of 315 projects advanced, with an admission rate of 39%. After five days of fierce competition, 22 projects ultimately qualified for the finals.

The list of finalists features a series of remarkable projects. These include “Nolibox”, an artificial intelligence design and creative engine from Tsinghua University, “One Zero Medical” - a leader in integrated and automated molecular diagnostics, the rural revitalization path of agricultural product processing and export by a team from Peking University, CT/MRI real-time image-guided percutaneous minimally invasive puncture surgical robot, “VisionTech” by a team from Zhejiang University, bridging the digital divide and assisting visually impaired individuals in achieving shared prosperity, and “July Cat Industrial-grade 3D Animation” by a young team from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. These projects span various fields such as artificial intelligence, ecological conservation, medical technology, and cultural creativity, showcasing the talent and creativity of young students in innovation and entrepreneurship.

This innovation and entrepreneurship competition provides a platform for young entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative abilities and project achievements. It also creates opportunities for them to interact and collaborate with industry experts, investors, and mentors. Through the competition and exchanges, young entrepreneurs can continually refine their projects, gain professional guidance and resource support, and enhance the feasibility and success rate of their initiatives.
