The China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) has been dedicated to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development for a long time. On May 25th, 2023, the CBCGDF will participate in the seventh webinar of Stakeholder Forum's 'Countdown to the UN SDG Summit 2023' series, which focuses on SDGs 13 and 14 - Climate Action and Life Below Water.

This 90-minute webinar is part of a series of eight webinars leading up to the September 2023 SDG Summit. The series aims to review two SDGs each month, identify transformative actions for change, and assess potential disruptions they might create, along with the benefits for those goals under review and for other interlinked goals. The series will bring together a diverse group of experts, policymakers, and practitioners with knowledge of the SDGs' interlinkages, including their insights on integrated approaches that can help develop recommendations for transformative actions for the SDGs. There will be a particular emphasis on strengthening the environmental dimension of the 2030 Agenda. Furthermore, the series aims to establish communities of practice that will continue to strengthen the environmental dimension of sustainable development beyond the 2023 SDG Summit.

According to invitation from UNEP, this webinar will be hosted by SF Chairman Charles Nouhan and moderated by Dr. David Horan, Assistant Professor at Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin, and a Fellow at Stakeholder Forum. The panel will include a range of SDG and sustainability experts who will share their knowledge and experience. The webinar will also feature closing remarks by SF Executive Director Irena Zubcevic.

As a leading academic society and an environmental group dedicated to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development, CBCGDF recognizes the importance of the SDGs and the need to work collaboratively towards their achievement. By participating in this webinar, CBCGDF hopes to gain insights and contribute to the development of transformative actions for the SDGs, particularly those related to climate action and life below water.

CBCGDF is honored to be a part of this important webinar series and is committed to working towards a more sustainable future for all. The Beijing-based society has launched a professional WeChat account that is well-known in the field called OceanWetlands. The readers of this account include scientists, policymakers, and practitioners in the fields of oceans and wetlands. If given the opportunity, CBCGDF would like to share its experience in communication related to oceans and wetlands.
