The International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) has established the Human Practice Committee, which is responsible for science and technology ethics, and responsible innovation, including the development of iGEM guidelines and rules on responsible innovation, and research on science and technology governance.

On the evening of April 13, 2023, the Deputy Secretary-General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) was invited to attend the first meeting of the iGEM Human Practice Committee in 2023.
