The 3rd plenary meeting of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee on Biodiversity (TC331) came to a successful close on April 21, 2023 in Paris, France. The development of international standards is a global effort, and the meeting was attended by expert representatives from various countries as well as organizations such as the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the Environmental Coalition on Standards (ECOS), and the BioTrade Initiative of United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD  BioTrade), through a combination of online and offline participation.

The China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) actively participated in global standardization work and sent three experts from its standardization working committee to attend the plenary meeting - Linda Wong, Yong Ma and Jinfeng Zhou - as members of China. As biodiversity is a global issue, the CBCGDF understands the importance of participating in international discussions and contributing to the development of international standards for the benefit of the planet and all its inhabitants.

The plenary meeting provided an opportunity for experts and representatives to discuss and exchange ideas on the development of biodiversity standards, as well as to review and revise existing standards.

As a leading organization in the field of biodiversity conservation and green development in China, CBCGDF, the Beijing-based scientific society is committed to actively participating in standardization work in China and beyond, promoting the development and implementation of standards, and working with other organizations to protect the Earth's biodiversity and ensure the sustainability of the resources shared by all life.
