(a) Experts made a report on the status quo of the sarcoconia species and the impact of current illegal poaching on biodiversity, especially the extinction of Conophytum bachelorum in South Africa, its country of origin, due to poaching.

(b) The objectives are to facilitate the implementation of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), assist law enforcement authorities to crack down on illegal wildlife trade, and protect biodiversity and build a community of life on Earth.

(c) Q&A on wild Conophytum.

(d) Information collection and analysis are carried out on the clues provided by several informants.

(e) Technical appraisal support. In view of the difficulty of identifying whether it is wild or cultivated horticultural species, the working group decided to cooperate with senior experts and organizations at home and abroad.

(f) To strengthen the publicity of laws and regulations and facilitate the implementation of CITES.

(g) To popularize science on biodiversity and endangered species and raise public awareness to say ‘No’ to trade in wild Conophytum.
