Why do international enterprises commit themselves to public welfare? Market mechanisms not just require the enterprises to establish good reputation, but to be deemed really good by the publicAs market competition is getting fiercer, public recognition underlies enterprise development. Therefore, in order to win public recognition, enterprises will try to do something beneficial for the public. This is the main engine behind the vigorous development of public welfare and the increasing scale of public welfare funds against the backdrop of western market economy.

So why are we lagging behind in this area? Many people say that Chinas economic development is fast and that it is the second largest economy in the world, but the scale of its public welfare is relatively small. For Chinese companies, reputation among the public is not the most important concern. It is the government and policies that matter the most. Therefore, it is much harder for individuals to have access to the public welfare fund compared with earthquake relief and flood relief, and the public welfare literally for the good of general public is scarce in the market.
