Cigarette butts are difficult to degrade in the environment and are one of the sources of environmental microplastic pollution. There are billions of smokers in the world, and each smoker consumes an average of 15 cigarettes per day. Please don't underestimate a small cigarette, it not only endangers the health of the smoker, but also the cigarette butt left after smoking have some adverse effects on the environment.

Cigarette butts are already the largest source of marine litter. Globally, cigarette butts generate 845,000 tons of litter a year and are often found in the stomachs of dead animals washed up on beaches.

Please follow us, pay attention to cigarette butt pollution and the harm of the tobacco industry to the environment, and participate in the survey of "River Patrol - Focus on Cigarette Butt Pollution". You can take photos or videos of the cigarette butts you see and send them to us as messages to participate in this citizen science survey.
