On January 5, 2023, Dr Jane Goodall, the British biologist, UN peace envoy and famous animal conservationist, accepted the invitation of Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary- General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), and confirmed that she would participate in the "From Montreal to the World People - 2023 International Biodiversity Conference (IBCOP)" to be held by CBCGDF via video message.

The annual International Biodiversity Conference is a brand event of CBCGDF, which has been held continuously since the 1990s. The International Biodiversity Day in 2023 is the first important commemoration day of the opening year of the "Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework" after the Aichi goal, which is particularly important.

The 2023 International Biodiversity Conference of People (IBCOP) will be held from May 22 to 24, 2023. The purpose of this meeting is to practice the idea of ecological civilization, promote the construction of a “Community with a Shared Future for Mankind” and a “Shared Future for All Life on Earth”, thoroughly implement the spirit of the series of speeches made by Chinese leaders at the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP15), and further implement the relevant requirements of the Opinions on Further Strengthening Biodiversity Conservation issued by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council, and mobilize the active and extensive participation of the whole society from the perspective of social organizations, to help the implementation of the goals of the "Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework".
