CBCGDF Expert Marco Introduced the South-South Biodiversty Science Project | China Africa Talk (CGTN)

On December 8, 2022, Prof. Marco Antonio Cabero Zabalaga was interviewed online by China Global Television Network (CGTN) "China Africa Talk". During the dialogue, he introduced in detail the background, purpose and latest developments of the South-South Biodiversity Science Project launched in May 2021.

 

He pointed out that as the deputy secretary-general of the South-South Biodiversty Science Project of CBCGDF, he has always adhered to the "Going Global" strategy.

 

On June 17, 2022, the International Department of CBCGDF received a letter of thanks from its partner, Re:wild, for its donating US$10,000 to support joint action in Madagascar to protect and restore wildlife and respond to the interconnected climate, biodiversity and pandemic crises affecting communities around the world.

 

In August 2021, CBCGDF joined the African Elephant Protection Initiative (EPI). CBCGDF became the first social organization in China to join the African Elephant Protection Initiative, brainstorming ideas for elephant protection worldwide, and providing first-hand protection information on Asian elephants.

In 2018, in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in eastern and northern Kenya, under the severe situation of local poaching, CBCGDF cooperated with the reserve to improve and donate animal-proof lights, invest in beehives, and monitor donations. A series of public service such as publicity of wildlife protection, improve and donate animal protection lights, invest in beehives, supervise donations and so on.

In 2019, to protect pangolins, CBCGDF also sent a small team to Nigeria to investigate the smuggling of pangolins in Africa and upgrade the protection level of pangolins in the list of key protected wild animals.
