CBCGDF Preparing for the Side Events of Ramsar Convention on Wetlands COP14

The 14th Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties (COP14) of Ramsar Convention on Wetlands will take place from 5 to 13 November 2022 in Wuhan (China) at the East Lake International Conference Center (ELICC) and Geneva (Switzerland) at the International Conference Centre Geneva (CICG).


As an observer to RAMSAR Convention, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) actively submitted applications for co-hosting its COP14 side events which has been approved by RAMSAR Secretariat. At present, the preparations for the two side events are in full swing.


Our side event themed on “Restoring Wetlands while Advancing Sustainable Livelihoods via Biodiversity Conservation in Our Neighborhood” will be held on Nov 8, 2022, and another one themed on “Ecosystem Conservation of Offshore Wetlands and coastline: Seagrass Beds and the Ecosystems They Support” will be held on Nov 12, 2022.


The opening ceremony and the high-level segment will be in a hybrid modality with participation of invited representatives both in Wuhan and Geneva linked via video. Negotiations and all other aspects of COP14 will take place in-person in Geneva.
