Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation(CBCGDF) was invited to make a keynote speech. The script is as follows:

Your excellency, distinguished participants,

Im honored here to share our thoughts of Pakistan and climate. RecentlyI received an email  from a US Professor, Jeffrey Sachs. He said what happened in Pakistan this year is not only a natural disaster, it is the high income country's responsibility. They built their economytheir infrastructuretheir farmstheir homes and that result in the problemthe recent climate problem. And if there is a climate COP, Pakistan has a very solely (persuasive?) case to be against those high income countries.

Yes, I totally agree, but also follow his idea, I think what about me, what about us? Are we responsible for the accidiental issues? Yes, we do. We have extra food, we have wasted foodclotheswe have extra packagingthe medicines.

The climate justice should based on what many countries’ levels issue, but from the civil society part, what we should do , what we should think about, we are born equal of carbon. All people on planet are born equal of carbon rights and carbon responsibility. Today's disaster happening in Pakistanare all our responsibility. We need to change. That is what should do  from our side. We people, including people in China should start to change. We need to change our way of life,we need to change our way of production. We do not have that natural resourcesNnot only climate emergency, but also biodiversity emergency that we all face. Every everybody should be responsible to change, and we should participate to support Pakistan, to support all developing countries, to support, to change, to get the solution. And the only solution is the Human-based Solutions. We human must change. That's my first point.

My second point is not only financially supporting to Pakistan is very importantbut also technology transferandall kinds of supports. We need to participate. We need to work on. And thanks to UNHCR, we started some program together with UNHCR to support with new green technology, and also not only energy but also agriculture and and some agriculture in some dryland. All those technologies are very essential for us to fight climate emergencyto support Pakistan. We also need all those efforts. Together we work with Aerospace Information Research Institute about locusts forcast. We also work with institutes of Water and Soil Conservation,We hope we can participate on the nature-based agriculture.

Hopefully, today we work with DYRD and more all international communities and societies and as well as Chinese NGOs. We hope we can work together to start a day to change ourselves to participate in the review of Pakistan, especially after this nature disaster. Thank you!
