This side event invited ambassadors to China, and experts in many fields such as animal protection, sustainable development and genetic engineering program, to discuss how to promote the protection and sustainable development of marine biodiversity, bio-friendly clean energy and marine education from the world to the local areas.

In order to promote marine development and participate in marine governance, students at the School of International Relations of Tianjin Foreign Studies University (TFSU) have always focused on topics related to marine protection. Before the UN Ocean Conference convened, they hoped to work with other young people to revitalize the ocean. To achieve this goal, they made a video and launched an Initiative.

[Part of the Initiative]

The achievement of sustainable development goals depends on personal efforts. While improving expectations, we must also adopt a low-carbon lifestyle from daily life, to make the most direct contributions to achieving sustainable development goals and protecting marine biodiversity. Action speaks louder than words.

To abide by and implement the existing institutional arrangements such as the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. Environmental protection exchanges and cooperation need to be carried out with member states of International Coalition for Green Development on the Belt and Road. The environment is the greatest wealth. Let’s protect the environment!

Waste less and recycle more. Low-carbon life is actually a small goal that everyone can achieve.
