On July 8, 2022, Xiao Qing, Deputy Secretary General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), and Lucy, the representative of the CBCGDF International Department, attended the “Europe Day” Reception, at the invitation of H.E. Nicolas Chapuis, the head of the EU Delegation in China. After that, Ambassador Nicolas Chapuis will leave his post and return to his country.
The reception kicked off with the speech delivered by Ambassador Nicolas Chapuis. Wu Hongbo, the Special Representative of the Chinese Government on European Affairs, also delivered a speech. After the speech, the guests started the interactive activities.
The Deputy Secretary - General Xiao Qing, conducted communication with Mr. Joerg Wuttke, the chairman of European Chamber of Commerce in China, on the agendas of climate change and biological diversity. Mr. Wuttke specifically introduced the efforts of Europe’s carbon neutrality. In communication with Mr. Thorsten Giehler, the chief representative of Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in China, Deputy Secretary General Xiao looked back at the past exchange and cooperation between CBCGDF and GIZ. Both sides hope to keep enhancing communications after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lucy, the representative of the CBCGDF International Department, made brief work exchange with Mr. Anshuman Mishra, Special Correspondent of India’s Public Service Broadcaster, and Mr. Mony Silley, European Executive Dean of the China-EU School of Law at the China University of Political Science and Law. Mr. Mony Silley praised the efforts of CBCGDF plastics Reduction and Pickup Working Group.
Before the conclusion of this reception, Lucy conveyed the greetings and blessings from Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, the CBCGDF Vice Chairman and Secretary General, to Ambassador Nicolas Chapuis.
