2nd International Tiger Forum, which will take place on 5 September 2022 in Vladivostok, on the opening day of the 7th Eastern Economic Forum (5–8 September 2022).
In recognition of the importance of this issue and joint responsibility for the conservation of the planet's biodiversity, the Forum will host the President of the Russian Federation, foreign heads of state and government, representatives of the Russian and foreign public sector, business and media communities, leading scientists and experts dedicated to the protection of endangered animal species from the world over.
The 1st International Tiger Forum was convened in 2010 in St. Petersburg and brought together representatives of 13 nations. The outcomes of the Forum included the adoption of the Declaration of the Heads of Government on Tiger Conservation and the launch of the Global Tiger Recovery Programme.
The key projected deliverables for the Forum 2022 include assessment of the results of the Global Tiger Recovery Programme and mapping out areas for future joint efforts, as well as developing tiger protection strategies and promoting the sustainable growth of various subspecies and the global tiger population. The Forum will serve as a platform for the exchange of ideas and best practices among media and expert communities, as well as sharing scientific findings to expand partnerships and strengthen international networks.
