Recently, the International Department of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (hereinafter referred to as CBCGDF) received an invitation from the Secretariat of the three chemical conventions (Basel Convention, Rotterdam Convention and Stockholm Convention). , as an observer organization participating in the Sixth meeting of the Environmental Network for Optimizing Regulatory Compliance on Illegal Traffic (ENFORCE-6), held from April 11-13.
Tatiana Terekhova moderated the meeting.
The meeting focused on discussing matters related to networking activities, including information exchange and identification of opportunities for collaboration.
CBCGDF delegates was honored to get to know about the progress of optimizing regulatory compliance on illegal traffic in Latin America, Carbean Area, Southeast Asia and other places.
We also agree nwith Tatiana Terekhova on the synergies in combating illicit trafficking and trade, which could be carried out by making full preparation of draft forms and explanatory documents for resident coordinators and Standing Committee Parties, on their concent, to provide information on trade cases in violation of the Convention, the Basel Convention regional and coordinating centres, Europol, FAO, Information on activities to enhance cooperation among INTERPOL, OECD, Customs, WHO, UNODC, WCO, UNCTAD, International Institute of Environmental Law and others.
CBCGDF’s delegates welcome the further exchanges and communications with the speakers after the meeting to discuss how to make effortss to improve global environmental governance from the perspective of combating illegal trafficking.
