The World Earth Day, which falls on April 22 every year, is a festival specially set up for the world's environmental protection. It aims to raise the public's awareness of existing environmental problems and mobilize the public to participate in the environmental protection movement. Improving the overall environment of the earth through green and low-carbon life.

This year marks the 53rd Earth Day with the theme "Invest in Our Planet". World Earth Day guides the whole society to establish the ecological civilization concept of "respecting nature, conforming to nature, and protecting nature", and mobilize the public to actively practice the green action by "saving resources and protecting the earth".

China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), as a national first-level society, has long been practicing the idea of ecological civilization and the concept of green and low-carbon environmental protection. A series of events will be held on Earth Day.

Recently, Dr. Palitha Kohona, Advisor to CBCGDF and Sri Lankan Ambassador to China, sent video blessings to the CBCGDF's World Earth Day public welfare live broadcast on April 22, helping China and Sri Lanka in environmental protection, biodiversity conservation and public welfare undertakings. The blessings of Dr. Palitha Kohona are now compiled and published as follows:

April 22 is Earth Day, with the theme of "Investing in Protecting the Planet Together". In order to promote pollution reduction and carbon reduction, help China achieve the goals of “carbon neutral by 2030" and “carbon peak by 2060” , promote the mainstreaming of biodiversity and biodiversity conservation, and contribute to the green "Belt and Road", CBCGDF will join hands with Ms. Liu Meixi, the public welfare ambassador to CBCGDF and the host of the program "Visit the Embassy", to hold a live broadcast event on World Earth Day with the theme of "Care the Earth, Cherish Resources, and Dedicate Love".

In the live room, your eyes will be enjoyed by the specialty of Sri Lanka, the lush emerald green island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Sri Lanka has long been committed to protecting nature. In fact, in the third century BC, the royal family ordered the protection of all wild animals, and this order is still engraved in stone. When nature was respected, Sri Lanka developed a civilization that fed on water. Today, 23 percent of the country's land is still covered by forests. More than 7,000 wild elephants roar freely and lead protected lives in these forests, the use of plastic is being phased out, and there are plans to eliminate the use of fertilizers. Sri Lanka will peak carbon emissions by 2030 and be carbon neutral by 2060.

Hereby, I call on everyone to support the cause of ecological environmental protection, especially the protection of biodiversity, and jointly care for our Mother Earth. The catastrophic suffer will make her never recover. We should take care of our Mother Earth for our children. I wish this charity event a complete success!

Thank you!
