5.22 International Biodiversity Day Commemoration Event and Symposium on Natural Music and Biodiversity Conservation

This is an activity for International Biological Diversity Day. On May 22nd, 2021, “International Biodiversity Day Commemoration Event and Symposium on Natural Music and Biodiversity Conservation” was hosted at Mirror Lake in the Beijing 798, Chaoyang District, Beijing. Zhou Jinfeng, vice chairman and secretary general of CBCGDF, Lyu Keqin, a consultant of CBCGDF, Qiaoling, chairwoman of CBCGDF Slow Food Working Group, Yang Mingsen, chief editor of China Ecological Civilization, Sun Ran, president of New Town Magazine,  Hu Jingren, director and deputy secretary general of CBCGDF, Aduo Gulie, director of Black-Crested Gibbon protection of CBCGDF and nature musician, Yang Aidong, famous director from the Art Ensemble of the All-China Federation of Trade Union, Cui Duoying, chief scientist of China Green Peacock, Qin Wanming, a famous musician, Liu Ye, a famous young composer, Wen Yadong, an entrepreneur of environmental protection industry, etc. attended the event.

2021 International Biodiversity Conservation Summit-Building a community of human and nature from the perspective of the global environmental crisis: 2021 International Biodiversity Day Seminar

In the evening of May 22nd, 2021, GMT+8, “2021 International Biodiversity Conservation Summit-Building a community of human and nature from the perspective of the global environmental crisis: 2021 International Biodiversity Day Seminar” was held as a webinar. This conference is a scientific activity and a prelude for CBD COP15, showing the importance of biodiversity for sustaining the health of earth at multiple facets and emphasizing the benefits of the coalition of biodiversity, public health, climate change, and food system.

World Elephant Day: from Conflict to Coexistence

In the evening of August 12th, 2021, GMT+8, “World Elephant Day: from Conflict to Coexistence
With the theme of “From conflict over resources to valuable allies in the fight against climate change: a new understanding of the importance of elephants”” was held online with nearly 110K audience. During this webinar, over 20 scientists at home or abroad participated in this meeting, promoting global protection work for elephants through multi-party conference and collective advocacy.

The Fifth Annual Meeting of CCAfas

On August 25th, 2021, GMT+8, CBCGDF provided an online seminar called “The Fifth Annual Meeting of CCAfas”. Our directors and volunteers showed great passion on it. Till the meeting ended, the online viewership was up to 24K.

Biodiversity & Global Emergencies Forum (Of ICG-16)

This meeting came off on October 27th, 2021 in Qingdao City, Shandong Province, China. The time setting is after the COP15 and before the COP26, covering multiple scientific areas and concerning three great crises haunting the public: the biodiversity decrease, climate change and the crisis of public hygiene. This meeting also assembled experts in various domains, including ecological red line, climate change, biodiversity protection, animal welfare, ecological agriculture, marine genetic resources, diversity and protection of bats, providing a comfortable platform on which they can talk smoothly and explore solutions with interdisciplinary knowledge.

The 2021 Conference on Apes, Biodiversity and Climate

This meeting was organized by the International Cooperation Department of CBCGDF and Ape Alliance, and focused on the theme “Ape, Biodiversity, and Climate”. This gathering invited a number of international scholars to give a splendid discussion on how to build a bridge between the biodiversity decrease and climate change, and how to distinguish their mutual influences. Also, this conference paid more attention to the ape, as a key species helping human mitigate climate change and deserving a special evaluation in its ecosystem services. This way, the whole society would become more empathetic towards the ape. This meeting attracted over 46K people around the whole world.

Last but not least, in the next year, 2022, we will continue our glorious campaign, reinforce the status of this activity, and continuously exert endeavors to the construction of global ecological civilization construction and a community of life on earth.

The first meeting of the next year would be settled during the first ten-day period of January and focus on global conversations between arid regions. It is reckoned that the outcome of this meeting will be sent to Geneva, Switzerland, where the follow-up meeting of WG2020-3 will be opened. Please keep close attention on our programs.
