World Animal Day is an international day of action for animal rights and welfare celebrated annually on October 4. The mission of World Animal Day is “to raise the status of animals in order to improve welfare standards around the globe”. Building the celebration of World Animal Day unites the animal welfare movement, mobilising it into a global force to make the world a better place for all animals. 

On Octobor 4, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) will host “2021 World Animal Day--The Fantastic Beast” meeting at 20:30 (UTC+8), together with Earth Climate Ocean Research Foundation (ECOR Foundation), Department of Environmental Science, Central University of Kerala, and Global Youth for Biological Network India Chapter.

The theme of 2021 World Elephant Day is: “Forest and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet”.

This event is amined to address the serious issues that faced by the animals across the world. We will give an insight to the viewers on how rich our fauna is and how cruel we are towards them.  

We will hear from a suite of speakers:

1. Linda Wong, Deputy Secretary General, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation.

Her topic is: “ Illegal International Wildlife Trade ”.

2. Maggie Ma, Secretary General Centre for Responsible Tourism China at China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation

Her Topic is: “ Why Pangolin is On the Edge of Extinction? ”.

3. Dr. K Mahesh Kumar, Conservation Biologist, Anamalai Tiger Reserve, Tiruppur Forest Division, Udumalapet, Tamil Nadu, India

His topic is: “Amazing Anamalai”.

4. Zhang Daqian, International Coordinator, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation.

His topic is: “Reassess the Elephants and Resolve the Conflict”.
