The UN Food Systems Summit has been confirmed to take place on 23 September, a People's Summit, held online on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. According to UNFSS, over the past 18 months, the summit has brought together all UN members from around the world -- including thousands of young people, food producers, indigenous peoples, researchers, the private sector and more. As a people's summit and a solutions summit, everyone in the world must work together to change the way the world produces and consumes food.

Topics of the summit include:

1. The Secretary-General of the United Nations will issue a statement of action at the meeting;

2. Summary of preparations for the two-year summit;

3. Dialogue and approaches to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for food systems by 2030;

4. Alliances around key areas, across five action tracks and integrating four levers of change;

5. Follow-up and review processes supported by the United Nations and its agencies.
