On 2 September, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, secretary-general of CBCGDF, Cheng Yiheng, Executive Director of Club of Rome (COR) and Sandrine Dixson-Declève, Co-President of the Club of Rome had a discussion via Zoom about Biodiversity in Our Neighborhood (BCON), Human-based Solution (HbS) and carbon quota.
Here’s summarize of the discussion.
Carbon Quota
The Chinese government is currently developing carbon quotas and a dual carbon target. We are born equal of carbon. China had implemented a food quotas system many years ago. Everyone had a 14kg food quota at that time, and even if you had money, you couldn't buy food. You must pay both the money and the ticket—your quota—when purchasing food. We have two significant accomplishments as a result of the food quota token system. It assures that everyone is treated equally, regardless of their position. It also helps to prevent food waste.
Carbon rights are currently limited. Carbon neutrality should be the responsibility of everyone. You must pay for carbon collection, utilization, and storage, or to those who conserve the wetland or forest, to help people capture, use, and store the carbon you released, regardless of your wealth. "We are born equal of carbon. Dr. Zhou Jinfeng put this term out because he believes that everyone should share responsibility for carbon emissions.
"We can create something similar to Bitcoin", said Dr. Zhou. "What we require is the assistance of individuals and businesses. This is a revolutionary approach to resolving the current issue."
