The International Department of the CBCGDF invites Chandran Nair to participate in the Summit of the CPC and World Party Leaders

The Summit of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Leaders was held online on July 6. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the State, attended the meeting and delivered a speech in Beijing. The theme of the conference was "For the People's Happiness: The Responsibilities of Political Parties." More than 500 leaders of political parties and organizations from more than 160 countries and 10,000 political party representatives attended the conference.


In order to better share the story of China and the current situation of China with the world, the CBCGDF had the honor to recommend a number of heavyweight guests to relevant departments to participate in this meeting.


Chandran Nair is a member of the executive Board of the Club of Rome, a Global think tank, and founder of the Global Institute for Tomorrow, an independent think tank in Hong Kong, Program director at The Other Hundred.

He is a member of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council for Sustainability and has attented many forums including the World Economic Forum (WEF), the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). He debated a lot about need to reform the current economic model and restrict consumption.


He often writes for The Financial Times, Guardian, The Huffington Post and The New York Times. He’s the author of famous book Consumptionomics:Asia's role in reshaping capitalism and saving the planet, which was named one of the top 10 bestsellers of 2011.


At the summit, he first congratulated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and then talked about the great achievements that the Communist Party of China has led the Chinese people to create. Speaking of the responsibilities of world political parties, he said that world political parties should do the following: First, protect the common interests of the people; second, protect the basic rights and interests of the people; third, promote social prosperity.
