Entering a new historical period, under the guidance of President Xi Jinping's thoughts on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, how can we further achieve the revitalization of the Northeast? On July 11, 2021, the first Changbai Mountain Forum with Beijing Changbai Mountain Entrepreneurs Association as the organizer was successfully held. Zhou Jinfeng, vice chairman and secretary-general of the CBCGDF, was invited to attend and give a keynote speech on the above issues. Now I share the following:

President Xi Jinping's thought on ecological civilization is a major contribution to Marxist philosophy. What's new is the worldview and methodology. Ecological civilization does not only refer to the ecological environment but a large system. It is a worldview and methodology. It involves law, governance, methodology, habits, culture and many other fields. The construction of ecological civilization requires multi-party cooperation. I once went to Ulan Qab to plan the construction of ecological civilization for the local area. Not only the cooperation of the staff of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, but also the joint efforts of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Propaganda and other departments are also required.

On April 30, the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee conducted the 29th collaborative study on strengthening our country's ecological civilization construction under the new situation. President Xi Jinping pointed out that all party committees and governments should have a timetable, mind map and specific plan for carbon neutrality. The realization of carbon neutrality is closely related to biodiversity.

Regarding the elephant migration incident days ago, we have conducted in-depth research. In two regions of Africa, the forests in one area have no elephants, and the other has elephants. The trees in the forests in the elephant areas are much taller and have more roots, also deeper. This is because elephants eat grass and shrubs, and their excrement can nourish the trees and become carbon sequestration in the soil.

The Yellowstone National Park in the United States is also very famous. When the Yellowstone National Park was built, people discovered that the plants in the park had problems. Scientists discovered that too many deer-eating plants caused it. However, why are there so many deer? Because there were initially wolves here, they disappeared later. The local area decided to introduce 15 wolves from Canada. The effect was soon achieved. When the wolves ate deer, the number of deer was controlled. After the number of deer was controlled, the plants come out, and then small animals such as herbivorous rabbits are also enriched, and the biodiversity is also enriched.

In the past 60 years, China has made remarkable achievements. China signed the Convention on Biological Diversity in 1992. In July 2015, China announced the "Report on China's Implementation of the Millennium Development Goals". Of the Millennium Development Goals, only one failed to reach the target, that is, Item 7B-Item 7 of the United Nations Millennium Declaration: Ensuring environmental sustainability, requiring "reduce the loss of biodiversity, and significantly reduce the reduction of biodiversity by 2015 This is the only item that China has not reached the standard, and it is also the one that all countries in the world have not met. The rate of disappearance of biodiversity with the protection of the world has not slowed down.

To ensure the sustainability of the environment, any loss of biodiversity is huge damage to our environment. CBCGDF will continue to work hard. For public health, we still have a lot to do.
