The global dialogue on the role of food and agriculture in the post-2020 global biodiversity framework was held online from 4:00 p.m. to 0:00 a.m. Beijing time on July 6. The High-Level Segment will be held from 4:30 p.m. on July 7 to 0:00 a.m. the next day. Qu Dongyu, director general of FAO, and Elizabeth maruma mrema, executive secretary of the Convention of Biological Diversity, made opening speeches. The Dialogue and the High-Level Segment brought together countries to highlight the important role of the food and agricultural sectors for the management, enhancement, conservation and restoration of biodiversity as a whole. Countries also discussed about the role of food diversity in shaping and enhancing biodiversity.
