CBCGDF’s Survey on Carbon Neutrality and Carbon Dioxide Utilization in Datong

In order to understand more about the challenges and coping strategies faced by coal-rich areas in achieving the "double carbon" target as well as to explore green development of coal-fired power stations, CBCGDF paid a visit to Datong, Shanxi Province on June 10-11. The delegation was led by Hu Deping, former vice-minister of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee and former party secretary and chairman of CBCGDF. Members include Xie Boyang, the chairman of CBCGDF, Zhou Jinfeng, the secretary-general of CBCGDF, and a few others.

The delegation listened to the report of Dr. Song Weining, Dean of Shanxi Clean Carbon Economic Industry Research Institute ("Carbon Research Institute") and general manager Liu Yulin, on the project of carbon capture and carbon nanotubes conversion as well as the plan on the realization of China's "double carbon" target. The delegation also went to Datang International Yungang Thermal Power Plant and China Coal Datong Energy Co., Ltd. to learn about the company's ideas and plans on the green development of the coal industry. All delegation members participated in the seminar jointly organized by CBCGDF and Shanxi Clean Carbon Economic Industry Research Institute to further discuss carbon neutrality and carbon-based new materials. Relevant authorities of Datong participated in these events.
