Insect biodiversity is an important component of biodiversity.

China biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation(CBCGDF) has long been committed to protecting biodiversity, including pollinated insects such as bees. In terms of insect biodiversity protection, the group has established Insect-Watching Committee on April 15, 2017 and has been actively carrying out research and protection of insect biodiversity. Since its establishment, the Insect-Watching Committee has been calling on organized commercial activities to stop the capture and acquisition of wild fireflies and deepen the public's awareness of insect protection.

With regard to build sustainable agriculture, CBCGDF called for biological control mainstreaming in the prevention and control of foreign invasive species like Spodoptera frugiperda (or Fall Armyworm) and "competition with insects for food".

To mobilize involvement at community level, the CBCGDF also supported the establishment of a community-level of " Community Conservation Area for Chinese Bees" to protect the bees native to China. With the support of lawmakers,  the political proposal on Supporting biological-control has been submitted to the China’s top political advisory body, the CPPCC, in 2020, suggesting to add "biological control" into National Bio-safety Strategy and establish a long-term mechanism of green prevention and control , gradually form the ecological immune pattern.

Another effort to support sustainable livelihood by the Foundation is the establishment of the Honeycomb Fund. The  special fund for precision agriculture provides free amounts of financial support, to help beekeepers who face short-term financial difficulties in restoring production and life. In 2020, in the midst ofCOVID-19 , CBCGDF reached strategic cooperation with “Golden Bee” to help promote the development of Honeycomb Fund. Since the beginning of February, with the blocked roads and controlled traffic, beekeepers’ livelihoods were stocked and their bees were dying in large number. Some people in desperate even committed suicide. The of  CBCGDF took immediate actions, and and wrote an official letter to the country’s high level reporting this situation and asked for help. Coordinated relevant governmental departments in Sichuan, Yunnan, Hubei and other places, thousands of bee farmers finally were able to transfer safely to continue their livelihoods–CBCGDF continues to leave its positive footprints in its unrelenting efforts to save and protect biodiversity.
