CBCGDF has jointly launched serial activities “Chinese Strength to Protect Earth’s Lung” with the Peruvian Embassy in China and Operation Earth when China and Peru have maintained diplomatic relationships for four decades.

It is aimed to contribute China’s strength to further protect the ecological environment of the Amazon rainforest, and to promote the friendship between China and Peru. The Peruvian government has highly praised and supported China’s efforts to protect Amazon directly through sending field researchers and volunteers.

One of the eight key tasks for China in 2021 identified by the Central Economic Work Conference at the end of 2020 is to peak carbon emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. The ecological monitoring of the Amazon rainforest supported by CBCGDF is making a modest contribution to increase carbon sink, neutralize carbon emission and mitigate climate change.
