The China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) Research Department is scheduled to invite experts from various fields online to hold a discussion forum on February 19th for in-depth discussion and professional suggestions on the Wetland Protection Law of the People's Republic of China (Draft) (hereinafter referred to as the “Draft”). Experts and scholars from the fields of wetland ecology, environmental law, and environmental justice were invited to the discussion forum. Zhou Jinfeng, vice chairman and secretary-general of CBCGDF, attended the forum and delivered a speech. The meeting was chaired by Ma Yong, Deputy Secretary-General of CBCGDF.
In his speech, Zhou Jinfeng emphasized that wetlands are an important part of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s “Two Mountains Theory (the economy should not be developed at the cost of destroying the environment)”. Discussions on wetland protection legislation are very important. Learning Xi Jinping’s thoughts on ecological civilization is fundamental in ensuring that wetland protection can truly implement Xi Jinping’s thoughts on ecological civilization.
