“Good Food” as seen by Youth and Experts: Food and More

The whole-day Forum on Good Food and Biodiversity was hosted online on February 4th, 2021, co-organized by China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), Compassion in World Farming (CIWF), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Royal Institute of World Affairs, and the Chatham House (Chatham House), and joined by 106,839 online viewers.

A group of brilliant experts participated in the Forum, including Dr. Jane Goodall, the world-renowned biologist and the UN Messenger of Peace, Mr. Philip Lymbery, the Global Chief Executive of CIWF, Mr. Jeff Zhou, China representative of CIWF, Mr. James Lomax, agriculture adviser in UNEP’s food systems, Prof. Tim Benton of the Chatham House, Mr. Jian Yi, founder of the CBCGDF Good Food Fund and a director, Mr. Daoyuan Wu, director of CBCGDF Academic Committee of Nature Education (ACNE) and Eco Community Development Fund (ECDF), and others.

Dr. Jane shared her insights on the protection of biodiversity

In addition, experts inside and outside of the CBCGDF also discussed about policies on “good food” and its lifestyle, including Prof. Xiao Shuzhen of the School of Social Development and Public Policy of Beijing Normal University, Mr. Li Yihong, director of the CBCGDF Good Food Fund, and Ms. Qiu Cheng, expert on the ACNE.

At the same time, ambitious youth also took part in the heated discussions as youth leaders in the Youth Projects, such as Youth Promoting Global Sustainable Development Forum, Hult Prize China, and Youth League of China Nature-based Education Map.
