On December 18, the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) Standards Research and Development Center went to the China National Institute of Standardization for exchanges around strengthening standardization work and cooperation in the field of biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
Ma Yong, Deputy Secretary-General of CBCGDF, first introduced the process of preparing for the establishment of the CBCGDF Standard Center, staffing, and work carried out in recent years.
Since 2016, due to the needs of biodiversity conservation, the CBCGDF Standards Center has issued 12 group standards in the field of biodiversity conservation and sustainable development through independent research and development and cooperation, six of which are among the relevant standards in the field of biodiversity protection, six are relevant standards in the field of green development. In addition, standards for natural education bases (preschool stage) and ecological communities are under development.
Li Zhiping, Vice President of the China National Institute of Standardization, introduced the basic situation of the Institute. He believed that standardization work in the field of biodiversity conservation and green development is very important, especially after the outbreak of COVID-19 this year, the country’s protection and biological safety are highly valued, and there is an urgent need to strengthen standardization in related fields.
The two parties believe that green development is the key direction of China's standardization work in the future. They hope that both parties will strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the standardization work in the field of biodiversity and green development, give full play to their respective advantages, and jointly promote the development, pilot demonstration, and popularization of standards in related fields.
