Background
The Science Literacy and the Construction of Ecological Civilization Forum is one of the parallel events of the 2020 World Conference on Science Literacy, organized by the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology (CAST) and China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF). The Forum is scheduled to be held on November 18, 2020, in Beijing.
The event is a one-day program that brings together speakers from different backgrounds such as government delegates, international academic experts, scholars, social organizations representatives, and youth leaders.
Objectives
1. To explore the effective measure to mainstream the spread of science-based knowledge and differentiate it from pseudoscience, especially in the context of coronavirus pandemic.
2. To build awareness around the feasible direction for human beings to achieve transformation towards Ecological Civilization as well as efforts that are urgently needed.
List of Topics
The Forum will focus on two main areas, in which communications should be centered: challenges and solutions.
1. Natural system conservation in the COVID -19 post era
2. Scientific literacy promotion
3. A global community of Ecological Civilization
4. Equity education
5. Sustainable Development Goals
6. Innovative measures and initiatives at governance, institutional, or social level
7. New “Ecological” culture
8. Harmony co-existence between human and nature
Application Procedures
Step 1: Abstract submission
The author should first send an abstract by November 18, 2020. The format should include a summary of around 250 words, which should indicate the following elements:
*The selected theme with the Call for papers or other topics which the author believes to be concerned with this Forum.
*A short bio of main author and co-authors, including name, affiliation, and contacts.
The abstract should be sent to below the emails indicated below, either in Chinese or English. The abstract will be reviewed by the Academic Committee.

Applicants will be notified before November 27, 2020, if their abstracts have been selected for the Collection of Science Literacy and the Construction of Ecological Civilization Forum of 2020 World Conference on Science Literacy (in Chinese and English). The abstract will be accessible to the general audience on the web.
Step 2: Submission of final articles
Once selected by the Academic Committee, authors must send their written communications in Chinese or English. There is no specific requirement on the length of the article (ideally no less than 3,000 words). A template will be emailed to all authors in due course. All communications should be completed and submitted by December 13, 2020, included.
The evaluation of articles by Academic Group will take place in mid-to-late December 2020.
The authors of selected articles will be informed before December 23, 2020.
*The authors must sign a consent agreement that allows the Academic Committee to print, translate, upload on the Internet, and reproduce the abstracts for publicity (see attachment).
