On October 21st, EDT, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, the Secretary-General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), visited the US Office of the Environmental Law Institute (ELI) to congratulate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of ELI.

During this visit, Dr. Zhou introduced in detail the outstanding contributions of the CBCGDF in the field of Environmental Public Interest Litigation (EPIL), classic cases and the important work of the CBCGDF in promoting environmental legislation, law revision, law popularization, and law enforcement. During the meeting, Dr. Zhou had in-depth and friendly exchanges with ELI President Scott Fulton, Eli China Project Leader Liu Zhuoshi and other partners of ELI. At the same time, ELI also hopes that their future business of China projects can be supported by the CBCGDF. Furthermore, Dr. Zhou also presented to ELI a copy of strong ink painting, a book about "Environmental Public Interest Litigation Case Selection" as well as EPIL theme brochures. Previously, Mr. Chen Hai’an (a famous Chinese painter, the representative master of strong ink painting and the student of strong ink painting founder, Mr. Zhang Ding) was invited by the CBCGDF to create this painting for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of ELI.

On the afternoon of October 22nd local time, Zhou Jinfeng also attended two forums of ELI, which are “Renewable Energy: Business Barriers and Opportunities” and “Reevaluating Nuclear Energy in a Climate Sensitive World”. During the forums, Dr. Zhou met with relevant environmental law and policy experts of ELI and was invited to attend the award dinner of ELI in the evening.

On October 23rd, Zhou Jinfeng will go to New Haven to give a keynote lecture about “Ecological Civilization and China’s Environmental Law Practice” held at Yale University. Stay tuned for more upcoming news on CBCGDF social media platforms.
