On the local time October 22, 2019, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, the Secretary-General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), who was invited to attend the 50th anniversary celebration activities of the Environmental Law Institute (ELI) in Washington, D.C., was invited to visit Georgetown University.

 

Located in Washington, DC, Georgetown University is one of the world's top private research universities. Its medical school is located in the northwest of the main campus and is integrated with Georgetown University Hospital. Accompanied by the director of the Georgetown University Medical Center, Dr. Zhou visited the Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Zhou and his party visited the hospital's large medical facilities. It is reported that this hospital is the best hospital in Washington, DC, and was unveiled by former US President Truman, perhaps the birthplace of John F. Kennedy Jr., the son of former US President Kennedy.

 

In addition, Dr. Zhou met with Georgetown University President Dr. John J. DeGioia and Vice President Thomas Banchoff and Geoffrey Chatas. Dr. Zhou talked about the work related to ecological civilization that is currently underway. He talked about attending a conference on ecological civilization construction research at Peking University recently, attended the establishment of the Ecological Civilization Research Center, and was appointed as the joint director of the research center.

 

In November 2018, Dr. Zhou met with Dr. John J. DeGioia in Beijing and exchanged ideas on establishing a business cooperation mechanism. Dr.John J. DeGioia thanked Dr. Zhou for his contribution to the collaboration between Georgetown University and Peking University.

 

Today, with the development of China as the world's second largest economy and playing an increasingly important role in international affairs, Georgetown University's relationship with China is also developing rapidly and increasingly. Georgetown University's teaching and research staff is rapidly expanding collaborative research with China's top universities on pressing global issues.
