Recently, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) sent a letter to Thai Nguyen, an expert on pangolin rescue in Vietnam, asking him to give guidance to CBCGDF on pangolin rescue work. Thai Nguyen has long been committed to wildlife rescue work, his professionalism to the endangered animals has been recognized.

CBCGDF mentioned in its letter, after several years of our efforts, the State Forestry Administration of China finally allows us to rescue pangolins now. CBCGDF is expected to get the latest batch of confiscated pangolins recently. We sincerely invite Thai to China and give us some guidance and share his experiences on pangolin rescue work. We got a positive reply from Thai. He first mentioned that SVW（Saving Vietnam’s Wildlife）needs to understand clearly the strategy to do with pangolins after rehabilitation. Again, SVW totally does not support commercial pangolin farm and they do not want to see this as a lesson learned for spreading out the commercial farming pangolins in China.

Thai Nguyen said that Sunda pangolins might distribute in a very small part of China, or even they were just introduced species from local authorities when they did not be able to distinguish between Chinese pangolins and Sunda pangolins from confiscation. Therefore, having a good strategy for rescued Sunda pangolins at CBCGDF would be valuable for our organization. Finally, Thai expressed his great willingness to China to guide the rescue work of pangolins, for which CBCGDF expressed its gratitude.

On April 21, 2019, the Pangolin Workshop of the CBCGDF participated in the emergency rescue work of Pangolin in Guangzhou. The International department obtained the blood test report and related feeding videos of Pangolin from the colleague Sophia. We contacted the Thai Nguyen for report analysis. Now we have received a positive response from each other, and the analysis of relevant reports is in progress.
