China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) writes to the Department of Forestry of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region for developing research on the cause of pangolin death. Over the past years, the Department of Forestry of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has been unable to make a scientific and reasonable explanation for batches of pangolins demise.

The first unexplained pangolin death of the Department of Forestry of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region dates back to August 17, 2017, when the Forestry Department received 34 smuggled pangolins from Guangxi Coast Guard, of which 32 were alive, and 2 were dead. But by October 22, 2017, the saved pangolins all died.

CBCGDF has written to the Department of Forestry of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region several times during the last two years and asked it to elaborate the death cause of dozens of pangolins. However, the Department of Forestry of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region prevaricated this question with virus disease and undetermined laboratory results from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academy of Military Sciences PLA China and other research institutions. The doubtful replies demonstrate that the wildlife rescue center affiliated to Guangxi Forestry didn't conduct an experiment with pangolin specimens and investigate the death cause, which does not accord with the perspective procedure. Therefore, CBCGDF writes to Guangxi Forestry once again, asking to research into the cause of pangolin death.
